Firm

Under the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants Act, 2015 (“the Act”), a “firm of public accountants” is a firm of accountants whereby each sole practitioner or proprietor, partner, or with respect to a body corporate, each equity owner engages in public practice.

The Act (S.9(1)(b)) requires that a register of the name of every firm of public accountants be maintained by BICA. A firm of public accountants should submit an application for registration of the firm to BICA.
